The best young European jazz artist in 2007 under the initiative “The Best of Europe” conveys a great emotion and claw in the tone of her voice that is defined as warm, round and powerful, complemented by a solid and natural swing. Jacinta took her first artistic steps through the study of classical music in piano and composition, an unusual course in a jazz singer. However it is in this world of jazz that his musical energy finds expression. The first Portuguese artist to be published in the prestigious Blue Note Records, was to drink the Jazz in its essence when realizing the Masters in Jazz Performance in Manhattan School of Music, having acted several times with great names of the Jazz like Peter Eldridge, Jane Monheit, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Greg Osby, Jason Moran, among others. His first commercial recording, Tribute to Bessie Smith, holds the national record of sales, having been awarded a Gold record for sales of more than 25,000 copies, something that never happened before in the history of Portuguese jazz. Jacinta ventures into Portuguese music and produces her third album “Convexo” [the song of Zeca Afonso] in 2007. With this same project, in 2008, she holds the biggest Jazz Tour ever organized in Portugal. The tour included 20 concerts from north to south of the country, passing through large venues such as Teatro Circo, Teatro Gil Vicente, Olga Cadaval and CCB. In 2009, after completing 9 performances at the São Luiz Theater Winter Garden, Jacinta returns to the prestigious Blue Note label with the Songs of Freedom project – hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s. “Jacinta has a very own voice and style in” Songs of Freedom “: She places her original brand in a diverse selection of classic pop and jazz standards.”- Bruce Lundvall, President of the Blue Note GroupAlready in 2011 in a German production, Jacinta publishes “Recycle Swing” Jazz Standards.
