Giacomo Serra

Giacomo Serra studied in Venezia and Milano Conservatorio where he graduated with Riccardo Risaliti. He perfected himself for many years with Dario De Rosa pianist of the famous “Trio di Trieste” performing a lot of piano four-hands and two pianos concerts.

He played in Teatro Verdi Trieste, Foro Italico Roms, Accademia Chigiana Siena where he recorded Schubert music for italian television RAI1. He won piano competitions in Osimo Stresa and Albenga.

Giacomo Serra graduated in musicology at the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari with a study on Carlo Goldoni and the 18th century italian opera. He won an audition in Teatro San Carlo, Naples where he is since 1995 maestro sostituto and orchestra pianist. He has played with important conductors like Daniel Oren, Gustav Kuhn, Giuseppe Sino poli, Mitislav Rostropovich, Jeffrey Tate and many others in operas of italian and european repertoire (Strauss, Schostakovich, Wagner, Janacek).

He gives many solo and chamber music concerts. Recently he played Mozart piano and orchestra concert K595 with Nuova Scarlatti orchestra in Naples; Mozart and Beethoven Quintets with first instruments of San Carlo orchestra. He has been maestro di sala in Wagner Parsifal performed in Academy of S.Cecilia, Rome, conducted by Daniele Gatti.
